A highly-detailed matte plastic helmet that emits a soft and soothing ambient glow.

Firstly, I can honestly say that the service I received from YuppieGadgets was nothing short of excellent. The delivery was quicker than anticipated, and I was constantly kept in the loop throughout the process. 5 stars for overall shopping experience.
The product:
Pros:
– This mould is big. It’s a life-size plastic replica of a stormtrooper helmet. It looks fantastic sitting on my desk.
– the light is a pure white LED colour. It lights up the helmet from the inside. The light is not as overly bright as a lamp, but it is perfect for a nightlight. It illuminates the corner of my kid’s room slightly but won’t bother you at night if you do not look directly at it.
– It looks badass
– The product uses low power LEDs. This means there is no heat generated whatsoever.
Cons:
– It is battery operated. Batteries were not included. Uses 3 AA penlight batteries
– the batteries are installed under a screwed plate on the base of the light. You’ll need to unscrew the plate to access the batteries.
– the on/off switch is also located on the underside of the light. This means that you have to lift up the light, turn it upside down and switch it on or off.
– the light only has an on/off mode. It would have been great to see a few programmable modes such as a slow light pulse, or even an auto-off timer.
After purchasing the unit, I made a few slight modifications. It cost around R25, but now the unit is wired like a normal lamp, rather than battery operated. If you have any friends with a general understanding of electronics, they would be able to do this for you very easily.
Overall I’m very happy with the purchase.
